…at least that’s what it felt like!
This past weekend I had the awesome opportunity to drive a race car in Clearfield, PA with my dad at On Track Racing Experience. To say it was a great experience would be an understatement. Granted, I was shaking nervous out of my mind before the drive but by the time I got the car going (after stalling once) the nerves started to go away and I was driving a race car! I wasn’t going very fast, either, but when you’re driving a car like that it feels like you’re going 100 MPH. The funny thing is, for most of the drive I was so tensed up that my hands were starting to hurt from holding the steering wheel so much, and my mouth was incredibly dry. But once I started to relax, that’s when I stopped paying so much attention to my driving path and I would veer off the route that the instructor advised us to take. Then I remembered how bad it would be if I spun out and I focused back on the road. 🙂
Here’s a little video of what I put together from the day. Don’t judge me on the first stall… it was my first time driving a standard!
Have a lovely week!
